Ubuntu

CARBinating your Debian-based distro

After far too long with no software released, I've finally gotten together the Perl scripts which I use to manage a software repository on the computer I'm currently using. (I will neglect to go into the backstory here; just read the older blog posts.) I've been running Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft on said computer, but since I don't have an internet connection at home right now, I've had to ferry packages from the library on a USB key drive.

What's up, pussycat? Whoa oh oh...

While I've not been able to do much development lately, things have been keeping me quite busy recently. With the computer I'm currently using, it takes a lot to do a little, but I am getting a bit of work done on my projects (mainly redesigning them since I've given up all the old code for dead). I've also been doing a bit of work on the site, such as adding Twitter support (check out the Current Activity section on the sidebar), and figuring out how to package Freebasic for distribution with Ubuntu.

Perhaps I can still do some development...

Although I am still without a working computer to call my own, my dad's own Pentium II system has been more or less loaned to me so that I can continue to do some work (such as for the conference or working on my portfolio). This means that I can do some meagre software development, as it has Ubuntu 5.10 on it (and soon to have 6.10 -- the thing's not good enough for 7.04). While I won't be able to work on any of my current projects (for lack of access to their repositories, snug in the dead computer thanks to overtightened screws for holding the HDD) I might still toss together a few things to keep me from getting too rusty.

I still need to get a new computer, though.
