Is it time to install AdBlock again?

I've noticed a distinct rise in annoying, obtrusive advertising that covers up actual content with lame animations and unwanted noises. Since I got internet at home again I never really ran into those ads for a while. However, I just witnessed a bunch of stick figures hopping out into the middle of a news story to play a round of golf.

If I start using AdBlock again, it'll be like I did in the past. That is, assume innocence until proven guilty. I can understand where some site operators are upset about using things like AdBlock, as most people seem to be indiscriminate, blocking obtrusive, (visually and audibly) noisy ads that some of those operators use, but also quiet, appealing, or actually useful ads that don't get in the way as well. I tend to avoid that kind of "kill 'em all and let [insert deity here] sort 'em out" behaviour, because I tend to run into ads that actually are helpful for me, or at least amusing.

I'll give it a little while, and see if I've only run into a few isolated incidents. If that's the case, I think I can survive without AdBlock for a while longer.
