Updates
Hello internet, what's happening... I finally got around to updating the various Drupal modules that had fallen out of date on here, and patched up Token with some event-based, well, tokens. I'll pass them upstream some point today, and perhaps they'll even be committed by someone.
I also bombed all my event nodes, and repopulated from scratch. Event Repeat is an absolute dog, especially when it's left at its default settings. I had to adjust it to not create nodes for repeating events past one year (the default is 2000 days – almost five and a half years). Then, when you try to correct something missed when creating the original event node that has been repeated, all sorts of weirdness erupts, such as finding the node URL aliases to be reversed vis a vis the event start dates. Like the website's become Bizzaro World or something.
Which brings me on to the events themselves. Ad Astra was sweet! Despite some false starts and other difficulties with the LARP, it eventually started running smoothly, and our comic guest of honour (Howard Tayler, of Schlock Mercenary fame) participated for much of it. The other gaming programming that I introduced were also well received, and people commented that there wasn't enough space for all the gamers!
Anime North is coming up again; like last year I'll be running DDR except when I skip out on Saturday for another event nearby, Energize IT. But even before all that, this weekend is the Toastmasters District 60 conference, the last before the district is split in twain on July 1.
Lots of fun, folks, lots of fun!
