I can't write. I'm not letting it stop me, though!

With NaNoWriMo 2007 entering its second week, participants should be at about 13350 words (give or take a few to round it out). Me? I'm at 1473 words. That's not for lack of trying, either.

The problem? I can't make as much time as I should to write, and when I do make time, I get stuck trying to push through my prose. A professional writer, I am not. However, if I can get myself to write about 2000 words each day for the rest of the month, I can still make the 50000 word target.

I'm starting to enjoy the story I'm creating. In those few words I've written, I've already introduced three of the story's characters, and currently introducing the last two. Four heros and an antagonist, or at least that's the plan. I haven't decided who the antagonist is, yet, but I'm sure the characters will tell me in their own time.

I'm hoping to get some help with my writing from local participants. While the group for Durham Region is kind of small, there are several members based in Pickering/Ajax with whom I can chat, as soon as I get to meet them. In fact, one of them apparently spends quite a bit of time at the library (like me).

Tonight: The 5k climb. I'm staying up all night, ruining my health and sanity to see if I can at least push through 5000 words. That'll almost halve my word deficit, which can be seen in a happy little bar on the side.
